Many young children with disability face barriers to sport from an early age, and in Perth there are very few truly inclusive soccer programs for children under six.

We identified a gap in early-years soccer programs for young children with disability.
Sessions are play-based, small-group and adapted so every child can participate at their own pace.
With trained coaches and family support, children build confidence, movement skills and a sense of belonging through fun and play.
Our son Lewis was just shy of his 3rd birthday when I started to look for all inclusive activities he could participate in whilst using his walker.
After realising most of the inclusive sports had programs starting from 5/6 years old, we were lucky enough to cross paths with Mick at Football Futures, who introduced us to Mini Ballers for our little ones.
Lewis loves his soccer meet ups. It’s given him something fun to do and to look forward to, that is seperate from his endless therapy sessions (which sometimes feel like a chore) and medical appointments. It gives him something fun to work towards that isn’t a necessity for his mobility.
It provides a place where he can interact with other children who live with disabilities and for their families to connect. It’s wonderful seeing all the children light up when they are kicking the ball around, to see the joy and pride on their faces while they are having so much fun.
We are eternally grateful for having the access to a funded program like this.
