Football Futures Foundation would like to highlight one of our superstar i-League players, Sonnie Kainuku.
Sonnie first came on the scene in the WA Paras football program. His eagerness to play and have a kick a round would glow as he travelled all the way from York to Perth for Saturday trainings!
In 2019, Manchester United arrived in Perth and the United Reds league, now known as Football Futures Foundations “i-League” was then formed. This opened up a door for Sonnie to join one of the many clubs within the inclusive “i-League” space, Dianella JFC. i-League has helped Sonnie develop his football skills and progress not only as a player, but as a person by meeting new people and making new friends.
This season will see Sonnie be the first player to progress from i-League into Equal Footingball. Sonnie has signed up with Kalamunda Utd, and is already impressing everyone at training! It is amazing to hear that Sonnie and his family are still making the long journey from York to Perth for trainings AND games to this day!
On behalf of Football Futures Foundation, i-League and Dianella JFC, we wish Sonnie the best of luck and hope he has an awesome season. GO SONNIE!!!
